The NCP Saturday Showcase is a weekly event that recognizes students and staff for their exceptional achievements and contributions to the school community. This week, we have the pleasure of recognizing four Parke Heritage High School students who were named Pageant Royalty over the summer.

👑Emma Patton- Rosedale Strawberry Queen
👑Lauren Burch- Vermillion County Fair Princess
👑Ella Norman- Parke County Fair Princess
👑Paisley Hartman- Parke County Fair Queen

Emma Patton's journey into the world of pageantry began with a leap of faith as she entered her first-ever pageant, the Rosedale Strawberry Queen competition. Driven by a desire to invest in her future and step into a leadership role, Emma embraced this new challenge. Her decision to compete was fueled by the potential for personal growth and the opportunity to try something new.

"When I was selected, I was flooded with joy knowing all the opportunities I would get through receiving the crown and touring the festival," Emma shared. Her role as Queen allowed her to tour the Strawberry Festival and attend other local events.

Emma's experience in the pageant world has been transformative, and she encourages other young girls to consider participating in pageants, regardless of their circumstances. "I would also like to encourage girls to always consider pageants no matter their situation because win or lose, there’s so many things you can learn and great people you wouldn’t have met otherwise," she advised. Emma’s journey demonstrates that pageantry is not just about competition, but also about personal development, new friendships, and invaluable experiences.

Ella's story is a testament to the power of stepping out of one's comfort zone and embracing new opportunities. This courage and determination to compete has been a driving force, and she now holds two prestigious titles. This summer, she was crowned the Parke County Fair Princess, and last December, she was named Hometown Holiday Princess. Watching countless pageants inspired her to try her luck, and her perseverance paid off.

The moment Ella's name was announced as the Miss Parke County Fair Princess will forever be etched in her memory. It was the realization of a dream she had nurtured for a long time. During the fair, Ella took on the role of an ambassador with her duties of assisting in various events and activities, where she enjoyed engaging with the community and making a positive impact.

Ella's role as a princess is more than just wearing a crown; it is about representing the Parke County Fair to the best of her ability. "I love being able to participate in the many activities around the fairgrounds during the week," she shared. One of the highlights for Ella is seeing the joy in the eyes of little kids who look up to her as a princess.

Paisley Hartman's adventure in the world of pageantry began with her participation in the Parke County Little Miss Contest. Since then, she has competed in three pageant competitions. Her enjoyment of the Princess Pageant last year inspired her to take a bold step and compete for the queen title.

When Paisley's name was announced as the winner, she was overwhelmed with a mix of emotions—joy, gratitude, and pride in her hard work and dedication. This moment was not just a personal triumph but a realization of her efforts and commitment to pageantry.

As queen, Paisley plays a vital role in the community, assisting with events during Fair Week and representing Parke County at various activities throughout the year. Her responsibilities extend beyond wearing a crown; they involve engaging with the community and being a positive role model.

In January, Paisley will be competing for the title of Miss Indiana State Fair Queen.

Lauren Burch's path to becoming the Vermillion County 4-H Princess shows her dedication and love for the program she's been a part of for nine years. Becoming Princess was a dream she worked hard for, and after competing in five pageants, her efforts paid off when she was finally crowned. It was a moment of disbelief and joy for her.

For Lauren, 4-H has been much more than an activity; it has played a big role in shaping who she is. “Being the Vermillion County princess has been an unforgettable experience, and I’m so happy I get to represent the county where I've done 4-H for nine years. It is truly a blessing,” said Lauren. Through 4-H, she has learned about leadership, community service, and personal growth, which she now demonstrates as Princess.

As the 4-H Princess, Lauren proudly represents Vermillion County and the program that means so much to her. She views her role as a chance to give back to the community that has supported her, and she hopes to inspire younger members by showing how beneficial 4-H can be.
