PHHS Biology 1 students tackled a project for Principal Mr. Bruce Patton during the second nine weeks. At Mr. Patton’s request students looked at the amount of waste that is created at the school. After completing a Waste Audit, they prepared a proposal. The proposal included the Waste Audit and a proposed solution that could help reduce our waste.
Students then created display boards to highlight the Waste Audit, the student hypothesis and their proposed solution. Their driving question was “How can we as conservation biologists bring about change at Parke Heritage High School so that we can reduce our negative impacts on our community?”
Staff members voted on their favorite solution and board combination display.
